Georgia Ordering, Prescribing or Referring (OPR) Provider Notice & Claims Processing Impact

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) now requires physicians or other eligible practitioners to enroll in the Medicaid program to order, prescribe, and refer items or services for Medicaid beneficiaries.1 The enrollment requirement is applicable to physicians or other eligible practitioners even if they do not traditionally submit claims to Medicaid.
