schools-methodCenpatico’s School Programs use highly-structured, evidenced-based approaches towards providing positive behavioral supports and interventions for every student we serve.  We train all of our professional and paraprofessional program personnel to work with students by engaging in a cognitive restructuring process to support social/emotional skill development and growth.

Our methodology is grounded in the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS), Fred Jones’ Tools for Teaching, Love & Logic, and Professional Crisis Management (PCM). The application of our methodology has been shown to increase instructional learning time by effectively reducing classroom disruptions and punitive power struggles.  We have found that students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs thrive in environments with clear expectations, systems, and procedures.

We focus on supporting the whole student through a combination of academic, behavioral, social, and therapeutic supports.  This integrated approach ensures that, as students prepare to return to a district’s LRE, they have many of the skills required to demonstrate continued growth.  We offer small class sizes, with a staff-to-student ratio of 1:2 or 1:4, depending on the population’s age/grade and ability range.  Small and specialized educational settings, coupled with evidence-based and individualized instructional methods, help students progress and accelerate skill development.

With the primary objective that all students should have the opportunity to transition and reintegrate into a district’s LRE, Cenpatico works to directly align individual academic programming with each district’s standards for curriculum and instruction.
