Project LIFT is recruiting professionals in both the public and private sectors for the 2016 Behavioral Health Leadership Development Program, a part of Project LIFT (Leadership Initiatives for Tomorrow, supported by the DHHS & SAMHSA), who wish to enhance their leadership skills by:

  • Understanding the opportunities brought about by health care reform and parity
  • Embracing innovation to effect change
  • Helping to motivate and retain the behavioral health workforce

Senior Decision Support Analyst – Decision Support Services (DSS) – Employee Since: February 2011

It may not be a typical Valentine’s Day story, but one of Anne James’ most valued partnerships began on February 14, 2011. After all, it was on that day that the proud mother of two children who recently celebrated her 17th wedding anniversary began her tenure with Cenpatico. Anne migrated to the United States in 2000 from her native India, where she graduated from college with a degree in Electrical Engineering.  A valued and senior member of Cenpatico’s Decision Support Services (DSS) team, Anne’s education, previous experiences as a software developer and more than four years with Cenpatico continue to play an integral role in Cenpatico’s mission to Improve Lives for our members.

What does Managed Care mean to you?

Ensuring members are getting better care and better quality outcomes at lower costs.

What drove you to work within the HealthCare field?

I started working in healthcare information technology (IT) in 2008. Our industry is going through a tremendous change to control increasing costs and improve patient care, and IT plays a vital role in achieving that goal. My job gives me a great sense of satisfaction to be part of an industry that serves the vulnerable members of our society.

How does your role serve our members?

DSS leverages best-in-class business intelligence delivery to ensure a data-driven approach to all aspects of managing the care of our members. We offer a complete picture of the systems of care for our members by turning data into actionable information that supports continuous improvement across our portfolio of services.  We develop pilot reports that target high-risk members which help to develop programs that avoid high cost Emergency Department and hospital admissions in favor of more appropriate levels of care.

What are the highlights of your job?

As a lead data analyst, I manage the report development requests by assigning them to other team members and ensuring that the high priority and compliance reports are developed and delivered on time. Also, I am responsible for training and mentoring our new and junior analysts and performing code reviews to ensure the quality and accuracy of our reports before sending them onto the business owner.

Where would you like to travel? Why?

Europe. I would like to enjoy the natural beauty and rich history.

What are your hobbies?

I love gardening, especially to grow vegetables in our backyard. I also enjoy watching TV and traveling.
