Integration
The integration of physical and behavioral healthcare, two oftentimes separated domains, has increasingly been proven to be a more clinically effective, cost efficient, and holistic treatment of illness. Healthcare practitioners and researchers alike have found that, through coordinating health services, providers are better able to understand the patient’s health status and needs. The result is comprehensive treatment of a patient, treatment that recognizes the interconnectedness of a person’s physical and mental health.
Cenpatico is committed to promoting the good health and quality of life for our members and, as such, encourage our providers to learn about the value of coordinated care. For your convenience, we have located several research articles and grant opportunities on the topic of coordinated healthcare. These studies have been undertaken by healthcare professionals to better understand the relationship between physical and mental health, and to evaluate the impact of coordinated care on the health of patients. We encourage you to use these articles as resources for further education on the integration of physical and behavioral healthcare.
