Depression

  • 14.8 Million Americans suffer from Major Depression. (National Institute of Mental Health, 2005)

Mental Disorders

Substance Abuse

Suicide

  • More than 32,000 people in the United States die by suicide every year. Suicide is the 4th leading cause of death for adults between the ages of 18 and 65 in the U.S.(National Center for Health Statistics, 2005)
  • In 2007, more than 34,500 people in the United States committed suicide, which was the 10th leading cause of death residents between aged 85 or younger. (National Institute of Mental Health, 2007)

  • Between 30 and 70 percent of suicide victims suffer from depression or bipolar disorder. (Mental Health America, 2007)
