Quality & Accreditation

Quality Improvement

Cenpatico’s unrelenting drive to provide our Members and network Providers with the highest levels of quality service is woven through every fiber of our company and has led to many successes and achievements. Our commitment to quality, innovation and teamwork is evidenced in part by the fact that our Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer co-chair our Quality Improvement Committee. Our executives and committees continually monitor the efficacy and efficiency of our operations through the quality lens to ensure optimum performance.

Our committees are peer-supported with several committees and workgroups that are comprised of our network providers. This level of accountability and transparency is essential to ensuring our clinical and quality processes and procedures do not overly burden the provider. Through strong partnerships with our providers, health plans, state agencies and school districts, Cenpatico has been successful in meeting the needs of our members.

Accreditation

Cenpatico is fully accredited as a Managed Behavioral Health Care Organization (MBHO) by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Cenpatico was awarded full accreditation for a three-year term on June 4, 2010. Accreditation by NCQA is an industry standard of excellence.  The accreditation process is based on a comprehensive review of all service areas within an MBHO including quality improvement, credentialing, service and appointment accessibility, culturally appropriate care, customer service, provider network management and utilization review. Founded in 1990, NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality.

Cenpatico Behavioral Health of Arizona, a subsidiary of Cenpatico currently serving as the Regional Behavioral Health Authority for three General Service Areas in Arizona, received Full URAC Accreditation as a Health Utilization Management organization in 2007. Cenpatico of Arizona was renewed for an additional three-year term of accreditation in 2010 and remains fully accredited by URAC through August 2013. Also founded in 1990, URAC, formerly known as the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission, is an independent, non-profit organization that promotes continuous improvement in the quality and efficiency of health care management through its processes of accreditation and education.
